Since the day our company was established, especially in recent decades, highway construction in China developed significantly, and our company’s highway survey and design work has went through leaping development from plains to mountainous areas, from low-grade highways to express highways, from simple instrumentation to high-tech GPS, aerial survey and remote sensing and CAD digital integration technology, and from the single road survey and design to integrated engineering design in transport engineering of road, bridge and tunnel, landscaping, urban road, underground work and undersea tunnel, ascending to the peak of the world road survey technology, and achieving a number of outstanding design results. Tianshan Duku Highway, Badaling Transit Highway, Tianjing-Beijing-Tangshan Expressway, Shanghai-Nanjing expressway, Humen Bridge and Nanchang - Jiujiang highway have respectively won the gold prize of national excellent project, the silver prize of national excellent project, the first prize of scientific-technical progress of the Ministry of Construction, Jeme Tien Yow Award of Civil Engineering in China, the First Prize of Excellent Survey and Design of the Ministry of Transport. In addition, in survey and design of expressways in mountainous areas, the institute blazed new trails in a pioneering spirit to overcome many technical problems in expressway survey and design in mountainous areas, and dozens of expressways have been finished, including Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway (sections in Hunan and Hubei), Xiangyang-Shiyan Expressway, Fuzhou-Ninghua Expressway, Ningbo-Taizhou-Wenzhou Expressway, Xiangtan-Shaoyang Expressway, Guiyang-Huangguoshu Expressway and Hurongxi Expressway. In recent years, the Institute has successfully developed digital integration technology for highway survey and design via using spatial information, achieving gratifying achievements in reconstruction and expansion of six and eight lanes on Nanjing Ring Road and Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. Its digital integration technology has ranked first in China and reached the world-class advanced level.
